About Library

The Central Library is housed in an exclusive two storied building. The Circulation Section, Stack Area (Text Book Section), E-Learning Centre  (Digital Library), Journals Section, Reprographic Room and Binding Room are accommodated on the ground floor with more than 288 seating capacity.

The Reference Section, Back Volumes, Project Reports, Discussion Rooms, Internet Centre /Video Room and separate toilets for both ladies and gents are located on the first floor.

Plagiarism Checking Service – Using DrillBit Tool

The Library offers a comprehensive Plagiarism Checking Service through the DrillBit tool, available to the students, faculty, and staff of SITE. This service ensures that academic and research work is free from plagiarism and meets the highest standards of originality.

About DrillBit:

DrillBit is a leading plagiarism detection and similarity checking tool that allows users to compare their work against vast databases, including: Academic journals, Research papers, Internet content previous student submissions.  It ensures that any similarities with existing content are identified, helping researchers maintain academic integrity before final submission.

Who Can Use the Service:

Students: For checking assignments, research papers, dissertations, and theses.

Faculty and Researchers: For journal articles, manuscripts, project reports, and other scholarly work.

Staff: For academic and administrative reports or any official documents.

 How to Use the Service:

To have your document checked for plagiarism and receive a detailed similarity report, follow these simple steps:

Attach the document to be checked, which should be in PDF or DOCX format. Accepted documents include:

  • Dissertations
  • Manuscripts of journal articles
  • Research papers

General Rules

General Rules

  • Producing the ID card is mandatory.
  • Users should maintain strict silence in the library.
  • Use of mobiles is prohibited in the library.
  • Members will not write or mark on the books belonging to the library.
  • Members shall not shelve books or periodicals that will disturb the regular order.
  • Members are responsible for any damage caused to the books or any other property belonging to the library and will be liable to pay the penalty according to the rules.
  • The members caught tearing pages/stealing of books will be suspended forthwith from using the library facilities and further disciplinary action will be initiated against them.
  • Users don’t bring personal belongings (including books and other printed materials) and also the books already borrowed from the library.
  • Members need to check their materials at the exist/check point while leaving the library.
  • The Librarian reserves the right to suspend the membership of any member found misbehaving, abusing the library staff or behaving in an indecent manner.

Circulation

Situated at the entrance of the Library and divided into three divisions viz.

  • Property Counter
  • Security Counter
  • Circulation Counter

Property Counter: Members are advised to keep their personal belongings including handbags, printed materials, etc. at the property counter placed at the both sides of the entrance.

Security Counter: Members have to show their identity card at the security desk and sign in the gate register at the time of entering and leaving the library. Book(s) issued on loan and all permitted materials like note books, files, etc. taken inside the library are to be given for inspection by the security staff when leaving the library.

Circulation Counter: The circulation counter is automated. Books are issued on loan and received returns in this counter. The maximum number of books that can be borrowed is available in the Identity Card. Barcode scanners are used in the circulation counter for issue/return of books. The books that are not returned by due date, the overdue charges of Rs.2/- per day will be collected at the counter.

  • Books can be borrowed against the ID card with individual presence.
  • Library ensures the elimination of defective / damaged books. Any users find a defective book/ damaged book, bring it to the notice of circulation staff. Damaged / defective books returned by the users are charged as per the rules.

Circulation Policy

  • General books are issued to all eligible members as per their entitlements.
  • The renewal limit is one time, subject to the condition that it will not be requested by another user.
  • A user can reserve a book which is on loan by using OPAC.
  • Transfer of books is not permissible.
  • Books issued will not be accepted back on the same day
  • Loss of book must be reported immediately. Late fees, if any, will be charged till the loss of the book is reported. If the original library book is returned after reporting it lost, the fine will be calculated till the date of its return.
